Silicon Valley comes to the UK unveils top 100 companies

Silicon Valley Comes to the UK  (SVC2UK) have revealed the names of this year’s 100 Club members.

The not-for-profit aims to improve the economic climate for entrepreneurs across Britain.

The list comprises of companies which SVC2UK believe have the potential to reach £100m in revenue within three to five years.

They were chosen via a selection panel of investors including the co-chair of SVC2UK Sherry Coutu [pictured above], Hermann Hauser from Amadeus Capital and Sonali de Rycker from Accel.

London dominates

Some of this year’s startups include some well known London names such as Zopa, Masabi, Seedrs and Swiftkey.

The list also involves some of our Series 1 and Series 2 Elevator Pitch startups including, Teddle (Hassle) and YPlan.

50 Silicon Valley veterans at City Hall

Outdoor advertising platform Signkick founder Sebastiaan Heijne told Tech City News it is a privilege to be selected:

“This is not a normal event for us at Signkick. After being chosen from a selection of  entrepreneurs and to be connected to those in Silicon Valley, it’s extremely high profile.”

“We will be put together with 50 Silicon Valley veterans at City Hall. This is a mashup I’m really looking forward to.”

Some of the companies leaders are attending the CEO Summit later today where they will be given exclusive advice on scaling into Silicon Valley from serial entrepreneurs and investors.

Tech City News will be filming The Week in Tech video series from City Hall today.

  • Congrats to @hybridcluster “:” @cstreetc

Congratulations to Asset Match for getting on the list and coming such a long way in such a short time. Great idea

Could not be more chuffed. A real honour to be in such awesome company – and huge thanks to both SVC2UK and all the (busy) SV folk who flew 5000 miles to share their experience with us.

One day, maybe someone will be able to estimate how much SVC2UK’s annual events boost the UK economy, and how many jobs they help create. These guys deserve awards.

Happy and proud to see Seedrs here. Go Seedrs!
