Education gaming startup Night Zookeeper has raised a further £90k post-seed round, bringing its recent funding to £440k.

The London-based startup develops digital games, based around the story of the Night Zookeeper, that give children the chance to see their drawings come to life.

The most recent investment for the Wayra graduate comes primarily from London Business Angels who invested £65k.

Money, money, money

Night Zookeeper’s products are currently used in over 5,000 primary schools and sold directly to consumers through the App Store and their website.

The game is based around a popular children’s story and allows users to design their own character and story lines.

In June, Night Zookeeper raised £355k to expand the business internationally and the company believes this extra funding will “develop more entertainment focused mobile applications and stories and grow a rich IP suite using internal design expertise.”

Taking on digital

Josh Davidson, Night Zookeeper CEO, believes that in the tech era small digital companies with innovative ideas can compete with much larger, established companies for children’s attention.

The edtech company is to fully launch a new website in November but users will be able to play it from September 15th.

Earlier this year, Night Zookeeper was also a finalist in Tech City News‘ Elevator Pitch and announced that it’s working with a company in Japan to establish ‘Night Zookeeper Japan’.
