London-based dentist booking platform Toothpick is expanding into the US in partnership with Careington, a discount dental provider that operates on both sides of the pond.

The partnership will enable Toothpick users in the UK to access a 20% VIP discount on private dental care.

And US users will soon be able to use Toothpick to find and book a dentist, as well as taking advantage of the savings provided by Careington.

Since launching in 2013, Toothpick has facilitated around £25m of dental services and 1 million bookings, taking a fee from the healthcare providers that register on the platform.

It was founded in 2012 by dentist Dr. Sandeep Senghera and Jozef Wallis, so far receiving two seed rounds of funding for undisclosed figures, the latest from London’s EC1 Capital, which specialises in early-stage investment.

Careington works with more than 100,000 dentists across the US and UK.
