Airbnb management platform Airsorted raises £1.5m

London-based AirBnb management platform Airsorted has closed a £1.5m funding round led by Concentric and with support from 500 Startups and Pi Labs.

Founded in February 2015, the company employs 50 people and claims to now manage 1,000 Airbnb-listed properties in London, Edinburgh and Dublin.

Founder and CEO James Jenkins-Yates, who has just completed a full year living in Airbnb’s, has also been an Airbnb host for many years.

He used the additional income gained from letting his two-bed property in London’s Pimlico to fund a full-time, three-month coding course.

“This story is typical of our hosts. They spend the additional income on living their dreams,” he said.

“Through Airsorted, we have enabled thousands of people to pursue their own ambitions. We continue our mission to build a global platform that enables anyone to share their home,” Jenkins-Yates added.

Denis Shafranik, of Concentric, said the Airsorted team does a great job of understanding the problems all hosts have.

“James realised very early on that there are lot of complex and timely elements involved in hosting successfully. Airsorted’s founding members are all Airbnb hosts themselves and they are constantly iterating the Airsorted product, based on hosting challenges that they encounter,” he added.

Airsorted plans to use the funds to fuel its expansion, with plans to soon launch in additional cities, including Sydney.
