Airsupply, a London-based startup which matches local supply teachers with schools that need them, has raised £250,000 from early stage investor Forward Partners.

Co-founded last year by Karin Hogsander and Raza Khan, the startup seeks to make it easier and cheaper for schools to access the staff they require.

So far, Airsupply has launched pilots with Essex County Council — working with schools and teachers in Chelmsford and towards the Essex/London border — as well as in Croydon and surrounding areas in South London.

Online marketplace Obby raises £250,000, brings total to £400,000

Hogsander, also the CEO, said: “We are hugely excited to announce our early stage funding and to be partnering with Forward Partners.

“This investment will help us to innovate the current agency model which can be improved upon for schools, teachers and pupils in order to deliver a much better solution all round. We hope to enable schools to free up budgets, driving them towards resourcing and pupils’ needs rather than agency bottom lines,” she added.

Nic Brisbourne, managing partner at Forward Partners said the firm was “incredibly pleased” to invest in the team.

“We see huge potential in the business and the mission it’s on to change the way in which schools seek talented supply teaching staff,” concluded the investor.
